Japanese Tableware

O-Wan おわん

O-Wan - rice bowl, soup bowl When you sometimes eat Japanese meal at your home, I would like you to buy at least some rice bowls. The taste may be same, but a folk and plate for the traditional Japanese meal are .... By the way, many Japanese eat appetizer with their eyes.

O-Hashi お箸

O-Hashi - Chopstick People claim Japanese, because many chopsticks in the Restaurant are used only once and afterwards thrown away. Precious chopstick are made with lacquered wood and put on the chopstick rest to avoid to touch directly with table. Chinese chopsticks are long, blunt and made with ivory. We never know where is the enemy. Supposed guests may use a chopstick as weapon, so chopstick should'nt have sharp edge. And if meal poisoned colour of the ivory changes, so choopstick must be ivory. Naive Japanese? Peaceful Japan ;-)
